Afterglow...

Release Party Afterglow...

We had so much fun at our release party on Thursday! For those of you who couldn't join us, don't worry... all of the contests, my release party challenge, full stamp sets reveals, DT samples and the full release party presentation video are still on the home page at StampTV here: Release Party

I wanted to show you a few of the cards I made featuring the new stamp sets just released. These projects are all explained, step-by-step, in the featured release party video here: June Release Party Video

First, here is a card that I made that uses the brand new Pretty Patterns stamp set by Melanie Muenchinger, the new Tropical Nature set by Theresa Momber and this month's One free with 3 set, Assorted Greetings.

Ny next card uses the brand new stamp set by Becky Oehlers called I Do!

And my final Release Party Video project uses the new set by Tami Mayberry called Grand Tags along with Melanie's Pretty Patterns for the background.

Again, to learn more about these projects, visit StampTV at StampTV.com.

A few business items:

Card Stock

We have heard that some of you are having trouble getting an accurate card stock color respresentation from the photos on our website. We agree! It's hard to get an exact true color because every monitor is calibrated a little bit differently. We just revamped the chart and on the computer we used, they are pretty close, but maybe not close enough.

So, here's the plan. I am going to photograph each color of card stock using our StampTV studio lights and then crop a piece to add to our website color chart. Now, this still might not be exact- exact because of the monitor issue, but it will be as close as we can get and should give you a much better representation of our colors including any little texture or fleck that the card stock may contain.

(Example- our Kraft and Sandy Beach card stock each has a bit of a fleck.) Oh, and did I mention, we will be adding quite a few new colors too!

This upgrade may take a few weeks to complete but I have already started working on it. Please hang in there with me.

Art

As the mother of a daughter who is an artist and loves to hand draw, I can't help but be in awe of our illustrators who hand draw little masterpieces such as realistic flowers, birds, scenes and more. And we know we have a HUGE customer base that loves this type of stamp image for coloring, embossing as much as I do.

But we have heard that some of you would like us to add a more graphic style to our collection. We think that's a great idea!

We'll never stop producing the current Gina K. Designs style and lots of you like the more whimsical style that we carry as well. (I am quite partial to anything cute as well! Give me ducks, owls, cute animals, whimsical trees. I am all over that style!)

But there is always room to add more styles so we want you to know that we are working on some graphic sets that we think you will adore. :)

Suggestions

At our last release party, a few of you made suggestions in an almost apologetic tone. LOL! PLEASE! Suggest away! You guys are the reason that we are here. So if you want something, tell us! If we can do it, we will. If we can't, we would NEVER be upset about a suggestion! We know each and everyone of you is an individual with a taste and style all your own. That's what we love about you and that's what make StampTV a great eclectic community. Let's not change that. Everyone's opinion is respected and appreciated. :)

So, that's all for today. I hope you enjoy the release party video and that you have a wonderful weekend full of creating! For those of you in the heat wave- air conditioner on and stamps and ink in hand... and for those of you battling the rain and floods, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Hugs,
Gina K.

  3. Gina: I am the grandmother of a talented gymnast soon to be 12. I have looked high and low for realistic gymnastic stamps (not kiddie variety). My next door neighbor's grandson, same age and abilities as well so this goes male and female and we are both avid stampers. Just a thought that maybe one of the many talented designers might run with. Thanks for all you do.

  4. I would love to see firefighting and police themed stamps. Have a family full of these great American heroes but can't find any stamps for cards and scrapbooking pages.

  5. Great post, Gina. I think it's wonderful for a stamp company to try and embrace lots of varied styles. Like you say, we all have different tastes (and some of us are "multiple personality" stampers who love one style or another depending on the day!) And it is even more wonderful to hear you assure your customers that while every suggestion may not be workable, for whatever reason, you appreciate them having enough interest to ask.
From the patterned paper introductions, to the new illustration team members, I feel so glad for the success of your company and happily anticipate the road ahead. Go, Gina K. Designs, go!!!

  6. I would love to see primitive style stamps. I also do primitive crafts and my home is mostly decorated in that style. It would be awesome to be able to purchase these types from GinaK.

  7. Wonderful! Your stamp sets are among the best and wish I could afford more than I own. Recently I was looking for more whimsical stamps for "fun" cards so am happy they may be coming soon at Gina K stamps. You're still my favorite stamping site for inspiration and excellent videos, making my wish list longer than ever!

  9. I love GK designs but I am a terrible stamper. I’m a bit of a perfectionist and it’s almost impossible for me to get a perfect stamped image. I always end up with a line missing or a smudge or something regardless of the paper, ink or image I use. What I would love to see are some digital images for those of us who are stamp challenged. Thanks for all your wonder videos, challenges, products etc. You and your staff always inspire me.

  10. Thank you for your excellent customer focus approach.
You build a high quality line and I absolutely love your whimsical stamps and the statements / expression stamps.
The videos are high quality and I don't miss one.

  20. I would also like to see Firefigher stamps. Stamping Up had a set called Fire Brigade 2005 but it's not around any more and from the pictures I've seen it really represented those wonderful heroes. My grandson just became a Firefighter and I'm so proud of him. Thank you for the fun release party and video.

    1. MizMaryAnn,

Sometimes you can find old Stampin' Up sets on e-bay. Just a thought :)

    2. SU currently has a set called: Words of Courage. It's not specific to police or firefighter but has the words brave, service, hero, courage and freedom which might work for you while you find one more specific. Good luck!

  22. Hi Gina and Company!
I just wanted to share w you how MUCH me and my other 3 "Craft Sisters" enjoy your videos. Gina, you have such a smooth calming effect on us w your presentations. WE LOVE YOU!! Especially w some of those great techniques, covering a stamp w scotch tape in areas you don't want to use OR putting the acrylic block ON the stamp, instead of the other way!? Love the "cheating" making a bow!! FANTASTIC!!
As a suggestion. . . Would you show us some NEW "Christmas in July" card suggestions?? We're trying to get our Christmas cards started earlier this year. We are enjoying your stamp sets and card stock colors. Thanx for all you show us!!

  23. Since I found Gina K and Stamp TV I go no where else. Your company is one of the greatest, AND now you are trying to listen to requests for stamps. What other company have I ever heard of doing that. CONGRATULATIONS and WISHES for much SUCCESS in all you do.

  24. Would love some holiday stamps now for those of us who like to get our Thanksgiving and Christmas cards started early. I would also like to see some martial arts stamps that have both boys AND girls. My granddaughter loves martial arts but we can find no girl images for her to use. Thanks for always listening to us and for your great videos!

  25. Gina, I love your stamp sets and would buy more, but there is one thing that stops me. I like to have the picture on my stamp so I can see it while stamping. Is it possible to do this kind of thing? Also, most places I look clear stamps are less expensive than cling stamps, but I've noticed yours are exactly the same price. Any chance the clear stamp price will be lower in the long run?

    Thanks

    1. I have to agree, I was a bit shocked to see the clear stamps priced the same as rubber. I am not a stamp maker so I'm sure there is a reason for this.

  27. Gina,
Of all the crafters who teach and do videos, I think you are the best. Your vidios are direct and to the point. There is no laughing, hearing kids in the background, or apoligizing for your make-up not looking good. You have a talent for teaching that is excellent. I love your site. And your cards are edquisite. Kudos to you and your designers.

  28. Thanks for the "Afterglow" summary. I am not able to attend the release parties with the time change but with this video I feel as though I've missed nothing! Thanks for thinking of us working girls. U r the best Gina.

    Cheers, Grace.

  33. Hi Gina, My family n extended families n friends are all die hard golfers. I know you have one set with a golf bag but that's all. I look for golfing stamps a lot and could only buy one or two packs. Do u think it is a good idea to have some golf stamps available in your store?? You have made one of my dreams come true and that is the precut stamps instead of the whole sheet with stamps to be cut. :)

  36. I for one would love to see realistic versions of pets, Dogs, Cats, Horses and ponies, Gerbils, Hamsters, fish (non tropical variety), Pine trees (varied sizes some with snow, some without).

Maybe some Baroque papers anything Victorian and Steampunk.

Had fun at the Release Party!

  37. Gina,
As always you are a classy and sweet lady! I have shopped with you for years and I am always impressed with the level of customer service. Glad to hear you are planning on adding more colors, I love your cardstock! Hoping to see more variety in stamp images too. Would love to see larger images too.

  38. Hello Gina, first time commenting, a viewer for quite a while. Absolutely love your designs and even though I don't have any of your products, they inspire me to use what I do have and with a few alterations I seem to produce good looking cards.
Thanks for all the inspiration. Oh and by the way, I love the ties that bind card, can't wait to use the idea----perhaps on my daughter's upcoming wedding card!
