BIG10 SALE and a BIG10 Story. :)

For many of you who have followed me for years, you already know that my youngest daughter is a competitve swimmer.

She's had quite a ride along the way!

Rina started swimming competitively around six years old but she actually learned to swim at age two.

 Ages 2, 6, 12 and 18.

She broke a state record at age 12. She was invited to a USA Zone Camp at age 14. When she was a freshman in high school, she was the first high school girl state champion swimmer that McFarland high school had ever had.

She swam at many national meets throughout the years and became pretty fast! In her junior year, she decided she wanted to keep on swimming in college and started looking for the perfect school. She was recruited by four Big10 and other colleges and she ultimately chose the University of Minnesota!

In the fall, she moved into her college dorm and began college training with her new team.

As a college freshman, she has already posted many new lifetime best times! She's very dedicated to the team and we only got to see her for two days over Thanksgiving and three days over Christmas due to her rigorous training schedule. Certainly not long enough to unpack anything!

And now, she is at her very first BIG10 meet as a Baby Gopher.

Tom and I are fortunate enough to be able to be here and watch the her and her team swim this week and we are really excited! It's been a long time since we got to see her swim or got to see her at all!

We just want her to have fun and enjoy the experience of the BIG10 meet. (She's already proven herself this year by posting best times and scoring points for her team.) We hope she just relaxes and enjoys the moments. She's certainly worked hard and done everything she was supposed to do. Hopefully she will come away with a great experience and she'll be ready and excited for the next season!
Just to have some fun,  we are having a BIG 10% off sale at Gina K. Designs! (This sale is in NO way is affiliated with Rina, the swim meet or anything else to do with swimming. This one is all about STAMPING!)

We have lots of items back in stock too including many stamp sets! And we will be adding some more items throughout the week as inventory continues to arrive in our warehouse.

This coupon is NOT valid on orders already placed. This coupon is for new orders only and is subject to the merchandise on hand. If you leave items in your cart and an item sells out, it will get removed from your cart so don't hesitate if there is something you want. We can't give rainchecks on this coupon.

  2. Great story! I enjoyed reading it. Have a great time!

  3. Go Rina!! As a mom of 4 competitive swimmers (all boys) I understand the dedication it takes to be at her level. That includes the support of mom and dad for those early AM practices and meets, and the supply of groceries it takes to feed a swimmer. Congratulations on a great first season!

  4. Looking forward to hearing the rest of the story.

  9. I know how exciting this is for you all. My 15 year old grandaughter was the fastest backstroke holder over 200 mtrs in NZ as a 12 year old. Up at 5 every morning her Mum and Dad had to travel half an hour to the training pool as well. Unfortunately she cracked her C3 at the bottom of her neck about 18 months ago so has had to stop for a while but we are all hoping she will be able to start again soon. She really misses it.

  10. What wonderful blogpost!....I know that you burst with pride...for both of your beautiful and amazingly talented daughters....THIS is what the good stuff in life is all about..the joy that comes to us through our children! <3
