September Sneak Peeks Have Begun!

Beth Silaika is starting off the sneak peeks this month with a Wickedly cute stamp set! These images will make fun Halloween treats for the kids at school or daycare, or you can use them to jazz up a few bags of candy to surprise your co-workers! Plus, the solid images will allow you to play with some fun techniques!

Winter Wishes Snowman Card- No Cameo? No problem!

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday, I posted a brand new StampTV Video featuring one of our new Stamp Sets duos, Snowman Wishes and the new Patterned Paper Pack, Winter Whimsy.

The above card features a fun layout showcasing the little snowman standing next to a window. The window was created using the Silhouette Cameo. The snowman was cut using the Cameo, however, it is very easy to cut him with scissors as well.

I know that some of you don't have the Cameo or a window die. So today, I wanted to show you another way to create this card using card stock, patterned paper and your paper cutter.

Here are some step-by-step instructions to make a window of your own.

Measurements:

White panel- 4 5/8" X 2 1/2"

Red panel- 4 1/2" X 2 3/8"

4 Snowflake panels- 1" X 2"

Try making an autumn card by using autumn leaves paper in your window and some pretty pumpkins or a fun scarecrow for your accent piece. I hope you enjoyed this step-by-step tutorial. The Cameo is a fabulous machine that I highly recommend, however, most of my cards can be closely reproduced using your paper cutter, punches or dies.

New Release Inspiration Blog Hop- Day 2

Today we are featuring three more fabulous stamp sets that were released a couple of weeks ago. So many of you already have these great stamp sets and are making gorgeous projects with them! And today, we want to provide you with even more ideas to make these sets go even further!

My first card today was from last month's release party presentation video and it showcases the new stamp set by Tami Mayberry called Lighthearted Wishes and the HUGE bold background stamp from Becky Oehlers new set, American Made.

The huge background stamp from American Made has become a new favorite of mine. Aside from making beautiful rays of light, one of my blog readers suggested that I use just the bottom part and create a farm scene because it resembles farmland ready for harvesting. Perfect for fall cards!!

And the assortment of lamps, bulbs and accents along with these adorable quips in the Lighthearted Wishes stamp set makes fun cards for friends, family, kids and more. I love how the rays of light work so well with that sweet little lamp image!

Another new set we are showcasing today is the new one by Beth Silaika called Stippled Nature. This new distressed style of stamp lends itself to stamping in rich autumn colors and works all throughout fall and beyond! I am in love with Silhouette style images but the stippled texture in these images give projects a kind of extra dimension that I love!

I adore the font Beth chose for the greetings in this set. It's a new one for Gina K. Designs and it can be both masculine and feminine. That makes this set more versatile. Stamp leaves in warm colors for masculine cards and flowers is brights and pastels for feminine backgrounds.

New Release Inspiration Blog Hop- Day 1

Hi Everyone,

All of us at Gina K. Designs welcome you to another fabulous Inspiration Blog Hop! The Team will inspire you with many beautiful ideas. And as you hop through their blogs, make sure to leave a comment on each of them because we will choose a few random comments and those stampers will each win a grab bag of deeply etched, pre-cut Gina K. Instead of doing our regular inspiration blog hop starting the day after the new release, we decided to wait two weeks to give everyone time to get their new sets. This way, as you hop through all of the beautiful projects the design team has created, you can get right to work duplicating these projects or coming up with new ideas based on all of the creativity you see this week!

My first project features the new stamp set by Melanie Muenchinger called Basket Additions 3. I combined this fun new set with the new Create-a-Cauldron Digital Print and Cut file, available in our store where the Silhouette Cut files are located. This is a fun way to get started on some Halloween projects. Once you purchase and download the print and cut file, open it in your Silhouette Software and then print it on your printer. Once printed, you can cut it with your Silhouette. The Silhouette knows where to cut because there are registration marks that print around the image.

I used the Halloween basket filler found in the new Basket Additions 3 stamp set to fill in the Cauldron with the adorable skeleton, ghost and pumpkin. Some quick Copic coloring and you have the perfect card to say hello to a friend during the upcoming Halloween season. :)

I added this little spider from Basket Additions 3 using a piece of sewing machine thread so he is hanging from the top of the card.

Stay tuned for a video on how to use the print and cut option on the Silhouette and how to make this card step-by-step.

For those of you who don't have the Silhouette, there is a digital stamp version of this Create-a-Cauldron set in our digital stamps category that you can print and cut out with scissors, nestabilities or your paper cutter and make a similar card where the focal images are tucked inside an oval, circle or rectangle layer, just like most of the cards you make now. So anyone can use this stamp set and digital stamp set together!

My second card features the new set by Theresa Momber called Country Roads.

Even if coloring isn't your specialty, you can make beautiful cards with Theresa's newest set. I love stamping in browns or dark greens so the focal image looks like a soft sketch. Of course if you love to color, this set is a Copic marker, colored pencil or watercolor dream come true!

For this project, I used some of the new Sun-kissed Autumn patterned paper and the new Dusty Sage card stock for the front of my card base. A little Jute ribbon from the new StampTV kit and this card is a quick and easy way to get started on some elegant Autumn cards. Add a thank you greeting inside and this card is perfect to send for Thanksgiving. (I always like to send cards at Thanksgiving to those I am thankful for year round.)
